If they would use Sony's the most advanced IMX271 with 19 fps readout, the shortest capture time could be around 1/5 s...

Just spoke to our importer he said mine should arrive next week from Europe, so it should be in stores there next week.

Hope he is correct.

Comparing the specs for the Canon 100-400mm mk2 compared to the Pentax 150-450mm
Min Focus Distance: 3.2' (Canon) - 6.6' (Pentax)
Weight: 3.5 lb (Canon) - 4.4 lb (Pentax)
Filter Thread : 77mm (Canon) - 86mm! (Pentax)
Price: $2,199 (Canon) - $2,497 (Pentax)
Plus the Canon has in-lens IS, which people are getting 4 stops, no problem. In body SR is not as effective for a long lens.

I do not see the $300 value in the Pentax over the Canon.

Yes, one is a 4X zoom and one is a 3X zoom.
One is wider, one is longer...
And your point?

One of them has a K-mount.

So there is no incentive in trying to lure consumers from other camera mounts?

In other threads, you mention that Pentax probably shouldn't compete directly with Canikon...which I agree with BTW.
But this lens covers a very similar range as the one available from Canon, has worse specs, and costs more. It is a lose lose.
If you are going to release lenses that are similar in range and aperture to Canikon, ie this lens and the 70-200mm, then it is very natural for consumers to make these comparisons.

The biggest issue for me through is not the 300$ difference but that the Pentax doesn't provide optical IS. For 70-200 it was acceptable for 150-450, optical stab is more comfortable to use than in body stabilization.

The point I think is clear, the Canon is cheaper and also with IS. The pentax must provide something signifcantly better in picture quality for example or it might be better solution overall to just buy a Canon APSC + the 100-400 mark I and still have lighter/smaller kit with very likely better AF.
