Love, love, love this lens. Handheld at 450mm on a K3. One of thousands I could post.

Very nice! The shutter speed must have been very high!

Wow, just wow! I recommend everyone to open the image separately in a separate tab/window so you can see it in a larger size.

1/2500 in fact (No, not my image, but there's a "show exif" link with the attachment!)

OK, I wasn't looking for the link so I didn't see it. I am more used to "post your own photos" where it is part of the metadata of the post.

Fantastic.

Is the guy/gal on the left walking on water? Cool trick

That's ice the one is standing on. And there's ice in the foreground. They're fishing through the ice.

I purchased the lens, but it won't arrive for a few months. Best not to think about it. Not easy to do when there are so many excellent examples on this forum.

Sigh,

Bummer about the wait, but the lens is worth it. Love mine on both my K3 and K1.

I still have mine, but it has been neglected due to too much work and not enough time to take pictures

As far as I can see there is not a thread for this specific lens yet, so I made one. It's kind of confusing to discuss different lenses in the same thread.

This selectable quickshift mode and three stage focuslimiter sound like pretty nice features, once you learn to work with them. This lens will probably be pretty good for fast action.
After replacing my current 55-300 by the new PLM version (for easy portability), this lens is on my must Buy list.

Hi Marc,

I really love the set of photos that begins with the red ball of sun. Are all of these taken with the 55-300? If so, why buy the 150-450?

Which Pentax body are you using?

Cheers,
Loyd

Incredible wildlife action photo! Something we don't get to see often enough. Would totally enjoy seeing other amazing moments that you so skillfully capture in the future.

Yes, the O-GPS1 really eats battery. I always have to remember to turn it off.
Luckily, once calibrated in an area, it seems I can just power it back on and it's fine.

Just took a trip to Yellowstone/Glacier/Eastern Oregon and really wish I'd had this lens! I'm renting it for my September Alaska trip and will probably end up buying it from Lens Rental if it's in good shape! Thanks for all the info and photos everyone!
