With regards to EVF being the future, as other posters have postulated, I think it is
a future, not
the future. I have an Olympus OM-5 and a Panasonic GX7, and while their EVFs are perfectly usable, I don't like them much. To me, it seems like a second-hand view of the scene I'm trying to photograph, and gets in the way of how I'm trying to visualise the end result. Others will doubtless see things differently (pun intended). I sold my OM-1 because I hated the nasty little thing with its tiny sensor (well, maybe that's a bit strong, but I tried to like it and failed spectacularly). I don't think OVFs will ever die away, though cameras with them may well become a minority species. One things for certain, at my age I am quite confident of employing an optical viewing system for the rest of my life.
Oh, and as this thread is about the new full frame, I will be buying it as soon as its available.
