Agreed...it looks to be a serious and over built tool. I have purchased 3 digital cameras in the last 20 years. This will be the 4th and last for a very long time. My k7 was close to meeting all of my needs, there is no reason for me to believe this will not exceed them by a very healthy margin. Happy day!

If you are talking about the body, I guess the price will depend on the specs (esp sensor MP).

But on B&H the Nikon D810 is $3000, the Canon 5D3 is $3000. So $3000 wouldn't be extreme for the Pentax.
depends on how they spec it and what the target market they are hunting for is.

To me, the smart thing to do would be to use a lot of the technology of the 645z and K3... the AF system, processing engine, etc. etc. The R&D for those parts are already paid for, and the fact they will be buying more of them for the 35mm format would probably help reduce production costs. Then there is the sensor... they could pull a Sony and offer two identical bodies with different resolutions, and I would be more than okay with that. I would actually prefer a 24mp sensor, as I do believe that is the sweet spot for resolution vs efficiency vs cost. A 36mp sensor, while a beautiful thing and something I love in my D800, is overkill for the majority of users.

I would love them to punch into the lightweight 35mm format class and bring out something that shows the D610/D750/6D how to build a $2400 full-frame DSLR. Deliver all the features of the K3, refine the video package, and give us the award winning ergonomics and control layout of Pentax and I think you will gain attention. Trying to do that at the 5Dmk3 and D810 price point is going to be harder.

FF

Depending on the features I would pay 3-5k for pentax FF. If they are going to develop a camera comparable to canikons' ff's, id love to see them go big rather than make a soso camera. Bringing in features learned from k3 (best value camera out there) and some hopefully new AF tracking features for the FF. This thing could be a game changer

Prism hump reminds me of their old 6x7, or one of the older Sony full frames A800 maybe?.I really hope it matches or surpasses the view through my f3 film body....man I love that view finder.

The only piece of information I want to know is does the FF camera support screw drive lenses? I have many!

Please
If it has uncrippled mount, it would become hard for me to resist ...

Somebody should snap up that razor-sharp Sigma 100-300 f4 in the marketplace, it's FF and a steal

& perhaps time to start looking for my new-to-me FA 43ltd!
