Awesome! Cool lenses.
But I assume the photo of the camera body is an early prototype (texture, labels, circle around mount) and the final product will look better and this would also explain why its outline might appear to be smaller than the K-3. Maybe the FF won't be much bigger than the K-3, but I really doubt it will be smaller
One other thing is that even if you line up two photos so the mount is the same size, it doesn't mean the rest of the photo will necessarily be representative of the relative sizes. If you use different focal length and perspective/distance, you can change the apparent "size" of objects. The two photos might not have been take under the same conditions, so overlapping them is not perfectly accurate. Though, a FF smaller than the K-3 sure would be very tempting
It is the anti-Sony from what I can see.

Pentax/Ricoh are staking it all on the OVF, the prism, and traditional optics.

We saw that in an earlier marketing push and it looks to continue here.

Shades of the 645 and 67 Pentax medium format in the current design prototype.

I hope the engineers at Sigma and Tamron are kicking their asses and start building more K mount FF lenses now.

This is great news.

Hopefully this launch will finally spell the end of that unfunny joke, repeated ad nauseam, about Pentax being doomed.
Wishful thinking. The comments section on the DPReview announcement article is already filling with "too little, too late" and "DSLRs are going extinct, mirrorless is the future" type drivel.

I do hope it has built in flash.
I suspect that with the camera being aimed at pro users the pop up will be left off.
The prism housing design looks like film cameras and the Nikon Df.
If they added a flash it would make the camera even taller and I think they want to keep it compact.

I hope that's wrong about the flash. I like popup flash. I can live without it, but it's useful sometimes.

I respectfully disagree.
I don't see much point to having a popup flash on a camera that is pitched to the professional market.
Professionals expect to provide an external flash, and they may even discount a camera with popup flash even though it otherwise has good specs.

Pros find built in flash useful. The Nikon D750 has one.

I think they mean DC as in the newer SDM motor on the DA 18-135 WR.

I'm just annoyed the 150-450 was announced less than a month after I bought a Bigma.
I've had my Bigma for a couple of years and I do appreciate the 50-150 range that this unit won't give me for school football sideline shooting.
Unless the Pentax zoom has much better IQ I think I will keep my Bigma.

Now, the 70-200 with WR and it being a Star lens? I would definitely consider selling my Sigma 70-200 OS for that!

I never had any doubts, my friend ;-)

This is what pentax users needed: perspective !

a new life for all old & not so old FF lenses and current da lenses.
It looks a very traditional robust dslr & that is what i like.
I've never been disappointed in a pentax product & i'd buy it blindly.
