I only liked your post because you used the word 'afoot' seriously in a sentence.

I hope the engineers at Sigma and Tamron are kicking their asses and start building more K mount FF lenses now.
And Cosina (Zeiss / Voigtlander)

This news is fantastic! I've been waiting on it since the day I joined the forums almost 5 years ago. Cheers and huzzah!

But I'm so happy today because our ecosystem is growing. Better late than never.
I couldnt have said it better. I am also a hobbyist. I do not make money with may pictures.
But I like the idea that an FF has finally been released for so many reasoons.

I guess the most important is that we know pentax is moving forward and not going to die.

So yes I am also happy today.

And there's me thinking it was unobtainium.

...I have an Olympus OM-5 and a Panasonic GX7, and while their EVFs are perfectly usable, I don't like them much. ...
I also thought the same before using Sony EVF...

I'm happy, because this means that in six years when my K-3 is old and tired, I'll have a 35mm sensor to upgrade to. Also, hopefully sigma is gonna make that drool-worthy Art series 50 for us. Pleeeeeeease.

I've tried them, too. I just much prefer an OVF (and I'd never, ever buy a Sony).

Are we sure it's not some bad photoshop of a K-5 and a 67? That prism looks exactly like the one on the 67. Apart from that... It looks huge!

My order of acquisition:
  1. FF Body
  2. 70-200 - looking at the price, weight, number of top end glass elements and lens coatings, this lens it is going to blow my Sigma 70-200 EX HSM Macro II out of the water. (and hey, it is AW)
  3. 150-450 is a maybe. If the lens performs really well I might be temped

Here are 2 links to the new lenses.

PENTAX - HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6ED DC AW

PENTAX - HD PENTAX-D FA* 70-200mm F2.8ED DC AW

70-200mm Has a new lens coating:
Aero Bright Coating II
Aero Bright is for the internal lens surfaces (AFAIK it is the best of the three Pentax coating smc / HD / AB, but the most expensive and prone to scratch), HD is for external and SP is another layer on the external lens to repel dust and moisture

Somebody, please, correct me, if I am wrong
