Looking over the specs... this camera is my K-01 replacement. The tilt screen for macro and live view..... eliminates the right angle veiwfinder attachment and I lot of kneeling. This will make my life easier. If it had the K-3 AF system it would be a total winner.
Me, too. I use my K-01's for macro a lot, and now the K-S2 will replace a K-01... maybe both of them.

I think the price for the white one cannot be really correct

Now there isn't that offer anymore but if i had read correctly that was a sort of "reservation price" to pay if you preordered the camera, the rest to be added later...

It is available (for preorder) on some Ricoh-Pentax stores in Europe at 799 with 18-50 , 899 with 18-50 + DA 50-200Wr (not a bad offer).

Surely the price will go down in a few months, but i'd like to get a new camera by April...right now for a little over 850 i could get a body only K-3 (albeit from not-so-reputable online sellers)

I'm also tempted by a current offer for a K-S1 with 18-55 and 50-200 DA-L non WR that goes for 470, i could sell the 18-55 which i don't need and get a new camera with a lot less features but all in all the same IQ and sensor for a little more than 400....

Difficult decisions ...

May ISO be controlled by wheels or ISO can be controlled only via the menu?

Since it has 2 control wheels, I guess it's the same as before: front wheel controls shutter speed, back wheel controls aperture or iso, depending on how you configure it and which mode you are using at the moment.

Hmm. Why would the door be shaped like it is if there is no AA holder? Why wouldn't it be a simple rectangle? Weird.
The problem is we don't know what it's shaped like. All we've got are two blurry screenshots from a video, and what appears to be the edge of the the battery door looks different in each, probably due to video artifacts.

Actually, I thought it rather funny in a tragic sort of way.Two hipster guys and a tall, cool woman are over the top excited about their neato eye-catching design and, and, and . . . . . .

Oh. <heartbeat, heartbeat, heartbeat> Didn't think of that. So do I - and I like that they're marketed as such better than if they were featured as disco lights.

But the story is nearly heartbreaking.
Didn't they learn ANYTHING from the Marc whateverhisnameis fiasco?

KS-2 is a bit confusing. What will they call the FF K-S3?
K-S3 for the K-3 replacement. K-B1 for the 24x36? Kay-Bi-One sounds like something from Star Wars.
S = small.. B = big. ?

Perhaps K-F1 (F = full or film) for the 24x36 K...

It is interesting the wall display at CP+ features the body colors of the K-S1, K-S2 and the K-50. So is the K-S2 a replacement for the K-50 or not?

Haha, yeah. Well, Newson is a very good product designer, and the K-01 is an attractive camera. Pentax gave him several constraints with which he had to work. Like keeping the mirrorbox, without a mirror. It's also more a designer piece than a functional bit of equipment.

I wish Pentax would continue to be so daring, making limited edition designer cameras. As part of that maybe they can even make a very traditional, no functions retro camera that many here want to see.

You're right! A survey done shortly after the K-01 was released showed that 9 out of 10 blind people thought the K-01 was indeed a beautiful design.
