Nah mate, it's the stripe on the E49 Charger,... no wimpy Holdens allowed,....

(VC HyperPak Driver here,...)

As for the KS-2,... well it does look like the 'stills' dept have been listening with that screen and the toning down of the bling LEDs,.... Let's just hope the Video dept has been listening too.

Pentax should have skipped the K-S1 and just launched this instead.

The new naming convention makes sense, though.
It may also be a hint that we will see something like K-2, K-F2, K-L2, or a similar name on a new FF.

Look how DSLR cameras are becoming - very tied in to the legacy. People have decided they like a conventional grip, which originally was almost created by accident - or at least had as much to do with the need to put a roll of film in there as anything else. To retain such a grip they have to put something in the large space of the grip - so they stuff a battery in there. Then they have to leave some space between the grip and the lens so one can get his fingers in there to hold it - thus making the camera wider. And they need to have a great amount of thickness front-to-back in order to maintain the registration distance for the lenses, as well as giving the mirror space to move within. On the left side virtually nothing's left, because no legacy requirement forces them to even have a "left side!"

It's no wonder mirrorless ILCs have become prevalent in the market. I think they should design a smaller, mirror-like part that doesn't have to flip and take up so much volume or front-to-back space.

Save me from the mirrorless evangelists! I'm not a big guy, and I have small hands. I love the size of my K-3, and its superb ergonomics. Heck, I even like the size of my D810, especially with whopping great lenses attached. I don't mind the weight, as I'm no wimp. And before anyone asks, I have two M4/3 cameras and while they are OK as far as they go, they are too small and fiddly for me. I can't think of a single mirrorless I'd swap my DSLRs for. Not a one!

Best thing with this camera, is that it will have body armour as optional gear.

With the FF announced, I have to be on my best behavior!
No Ricoh bashing for a while - and they have not given me much to bash about - recently.

But folks know me...no slack until I am holding my FF in my hands.
If the FF has Pentax front and back, I may have to give in and surrender to Ricoh.

I think this camera is much appealing to younger people who wants to get into photography, especially if you compare it with Nikons boring 3300 and 5300 And at the same time, it has good enough quality's to attract more experienced ones too. Brilliant

Ricoh has clearly stated, that the dslr division will continue as Pentax only, and everything else will be branded Ricoh.
