WI-Fi and flip-out screen are must haves on con-/prosumer cameras. This camera will be competing with the likes of d5500 and 700d. Weather-sealing, if it has it, could well tip the scale in its favour. This looks like a great APS-c camera; well done, Ricoh.

Yes, this is definitely the camera K-S1 should have been. But, on the other hand, for those who don't need flip-out screen and Wi-Fi, the K-S1 is still a fine camera. Personally, I have never missed a flip-out screen, but the lack of WiFi certainly was beginning to get to me, especially after I acquired a tablet.
Originally posted by JimC1101 Agree on that, but I don't think the K-3 upgrade will be the K-3 anything anymore......I think they will make it a K-S something. I hope they decide and keep it consistent regardless. Reminds me of how Canon uses like 3 different names for the same camera. At least when I see a Pentax moving up, it will make logical sense.
Originally posted by Adam Pentax should have skipped the K-S1 and just launched this instead.
The new naming convention makes sense, though.
