Good one! The attitude and mood here, has certainly changed a lot the last couple of months. There you also have one the reasons for me not, not only beeing here, but also beeing active. To show that Ricoh are serious and means business! Times are changing!

All the new announcements look very well taught of and address many issues that were raised by users.

IMO, slam dunk for Ricoh/Pentax!

We should all have a positive feeling. New lenses, new cameras plus a new entry level flash. It's a big bang for Ricoh.

I haven't yet seen a pic of the bottom of the K-S2 but could it still have the optional battery holder?

from adorama presentation:

The battery does seem to be at a 90 degree angle compared to the K-s1

The K-S2 is nice, but they should really do something to make it stand out visually. Like add more LEDs.

And a large Marc Newson signature on the back.

Want to see change? Go back and read some posts from 2009 - 2010. That is really depressing. Odds were on Pentax going out of business completely. Many posts wondering about how long the cameras would last after Pentax closed. Quite a remarkable difference.

Wait, isn't Pentax right now just launching a last batch of products - a new "full frame" DSLR and an entire line-up of lenses - before closing?

By 2011 even I started to lose hope... until they announced the deal with Ricoh, and I decided to see how it would turn out. I'm glad I did.

So I had the new K-S2 in my hands today. Looks pretty nice. It's much lighter compared to K-3. The flip-display is not bad, but a little smaller than it could be (if rigid).

IMHO a nice camera for my wife.

Where did you have the pleasure to hold it, if i may ask ?

I am curious if the K-S2 has that little known sensor-shift compositon adjustment feature that was present on the K-50 and not on the K-S1..

Note:
The black with orange bottom K-S2, new kit lens, and a DA 50-200mm ED WR package is only $799 at B&H and at Adorama.
At first I thought the price was a typo, guess not since both places are the same.

It would be nice if its only a "body extension", sort of like the ZX5N had. Just an extension with shutter and AvTv dials... with battery contacts but using a single battery. The body extension grip would have a thingie that sticks into the body's battery compartment (like the ZX5n) using a single battery and not having to remove the grip/extension to recharge or remove the battery.
