The black with orange bottom K-S2, new kit lens, and a DA 50-200mm ED WR package is only $799 at B&H and at Adorama.
At first I thought the price was a typo, guess not since both places are the same.
Wait what? Including the DA 50-200? Adorama is showing it as $899 ($799 is with the 18-50 only).

Hm, seems like it's only the orange one?

DSLR Cameras and SLR Cameras | B&H Photo Video

The other ones are normally priced.

$3 more dollars to get a DA 50-200 WR? And is it the metal mount, quick shift version or the cheaper DA-L 50-200 WR? The "in the box" tab says:
HD PENTAX DA 18-50mm f/4.0-5.6 DC WR RE Lens

SMC Pentax DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED WR Zoom Lens

Which can't be right because it suggests the kit lens will be the HD version.

I figure all these errors are early-release glitches that they will fix.

Adam: ....

Will there possibly be a comparative review between the K-S2 and the K5IIs once you have the new camera in your hands?

Well, I don't think there's a DA-L version with WR. This is a new-model promotion. If you're interested, grab it now because it probably won't last very long. Personally, if I had the money I'd buy the K-S2 with the new 18-50 and add the DA 55-300 WR. Yes, it's more money but I think it's worth it. But if that's over-budget for anyone, the deal with the 50-200 WR is still great. $799 and you're good to go. You can always add two inexpensive but very good primes later as you need them: The DA 35 f/2.4 and the DA 50 f/1.8.

I can't stand the positivity in the forums anymore!!! :-P Where are all the I won't buy it comments, the it's not for me, what was Pentax thinking threads? Seriously though, reading recent threads and posts on here can get someone out of depression now!

On topic, I sold my Kr, FA 31, and FA 77 due to tough financial situation. The Ks2 looks really tempting, dual control wheels (which I really missed on the Kr), wr, twist and shout LCD (great for taking ground level shots, I have dogs and ground level is where it's at for great perspective). Just waiting on the video verdict... :-)

P.s. Did anyone look at what the back of the twist and shout lcd says in BIG letters? :-P

So much for upgrading to the K5-iis. I need that pink/black K-S2.

So the K-S2 does not have an option to use a Grip, is that correct? On the spec sheet it does not list any Grips as Optional accessories....

Wait, isn't Pentax right now just launching a last batch of products - a new "full frame" DSLR and an entire line-up of lenses - before closing?

By 2011 even I started to lose hope... until they announced the deal with Ricoh, and I decided to see how it would turn out. I'm glad I did.
Uhmmm . . . . . .

Love the colors of the K-S2!
I don't know yet which color to choose. I like the Black/Orange, White, White/Lime, Forest Green, and Desert Beige.
MIght as well buy all of them for each DA Limited. LOL! Dream on!

I just love the size and features of the K-S2 and if all is as good as on paper, this is a highly recommended DSLR for beginners like me!

Forest green doesn't look green at all to me. And where's the purple one?!

Just to point out the K-S2, if it does replace the K-50/500, does away with the AA battery option.
That's very unfortunate about no AA battery option Guess no K-S2 for me.
