My test of the 60-250mm on a film camera shows full coverage, but softness at the wide end and significant (but not total) vignetting at the long end. More like the sort of corner-quality you get with a kit lens than a pro lens.

This is an important thing that a lot of people are forgetting. Crop mode seems like a great way to get many of the benefits of FF (much lower noise at high ISOs, etc) even if you don't have FF-compatible glass yet.
One more thing to remember is that the HD 1.4x Rear Converter expands the image circle of a lens. When I tested my DA lenses on a film camera with a Kenko 1.4x converter, it made them more like FF lenses. (It even worked to some extent on the 10-17mm Fisheye!). I hope the Pentax converter doesn't have any traps in it that would stop it doing the same.
