The 28-45 is f4.5 only. Not really a replacement for the 25mm f2.8. I can only imagine they're freeing up space on the production lines for a bunch of new D FA lenses.
This lens has been really screwed around by Pentax. Originally released in 2011, a new version was released only a year later with a more restrictive built-in hood that vignettes on film 645. Why they couldn't have a removable hood (or selection of two hoods to suit film or digital) is beyond me.
As someone who only aspires to shoot with a 645Z, for me this was the most interesting lens in the whole catalog.
