Or maybe even Pentax 35Z - as in 645Z :-)

The name 645Z is from the filmcamera 645 where the film measured 6cmx4,5cm, later the 645N. They also made the 6x7 (later 67 and 67II, with filmsize 6cmx7cm. And they made the Auto 110 after the film 110 casettefilm.). The Z is from 35mm series. The filmsize is for the 35mm cameraas 24mmx36mm. The diagonal of the filmsquare is then 43mm, thats why Pentax made the lens with the focal length 43 mm. Above that we have telelenses, smaller is wideangel when we talk about full frame (35mm). Pentax has never named a 35mm camera after the filmsize. So it will be K-2 or K2, why should they otherwise come up with the slogan "Always with you" for the first K2 back in 1975, and selling a lot of souvenirs in Japan with that slogan? Se this: | RICOH IMAGING

Maybe because somethings did/will change indeed. They might do differently.

Sorry, forgot about that one, I was thinkng of SLR. But from the mocup, it won't be a mirrorless camera. The size is aprox. the same as the K3, just a little bit taller.

Don't even think about mirrors. Not now. Not yet.
But his is Ricoh, not Pentax anymore. If they need, they will.

Looking at the image of the FF prototype, the lcd screen looks chunky, I wonder if it will be a wireless removable lcd touch screen? Removing the need for smart phone and apps.

I think they said it will have features no other camera has

Would be interesting, for sure. But more likely just an articulated screen unable to be fully formed by the 3D printer (IMHO). We shall see..

Applies only if the thettering is the only reason for you to have a smartphone. I'll keep my smartphone so I don't want a removable LCD.

filmsize is REAL 24*36 mm, not 2 mm less.

If true, with what variations?

Sony style (ie release a 24MP and a 36 MP), or Nikon style (both 36MP, but with feature variations)?

Also getting to the stage of launching just one FF has taken Pentax about a decade. Now you say they will be launching two? I doubt they have the energy and resources to do so.

It is not so far fetched I think. The two bodies would share a lot of parts of course and they also might share a lot of parts with the K3-ii. Interesting rumor to say the least.
