Indeed, this time if they cancel, they'd be in deep troubles.
But they won't, they look way too bold about it.
to be honest, I think they are pretty advanced already. I think they are just conscious about when to release it. Towards the end of year seems good timing to me and bringing the news now makes that people can start putting money aside for it.

No video Mode !
Or they could, you know, put it on the On/Off dial like with the K-S1 and K-S2.

LOL. Look at the media scrum crowding around the small glass display cabinet. They should have used a bigger stage. They must have been aware of the great level of interest in the Pentax FF.

Hmm, I know this mock up is just a block of plastic, and the rear LCD looks rather bulbous, but it's possible the screen does not articulate (I really hope it does!)... unless this sites says it in Japanese and I missed something.

There is absolutely no reason in the world why I need this.

But b****y hell I want it. Well done Pentax.

Yes, Pentax are certainly giving us strong hints in that direction.

In the dc.watch CP+ link posted previously, there is a photo of 40th anniversary K2 exhibition. I am taking a wild guess that the digital FF will be named to commemorate the classic K2 camera.

I have said since they introdused the K10D that full frame would be called K2. At Photokina 2012 I spoke with the representatives of Ricoh/Pentax about the next upcoming model. They confirmed that it would be a K3, and I said that that would not be a full frame. They agreed. The full frame models will be K2, and maybe later K4, K6, K8. The K-01 was mirrorless and not full frame, So they will not call it K1. LX means 60 with latin figures, and was to celebrate the 60'th aniversary for Pentax. Besides Panasonic uses LX on their models now.
