It will look far more handsome in its new magnesium suit currently being tailored

Is it me? I honestly don't see anything wrong with the design of the mock-up. Quite the opposite, in fact. I think it would look even better with a honking great lens on the front, rather than the 31 mm (much as I love that lens).

It is very big compared to a K-7.

I don't think it is much larger, but it seems a chunk taller though, but that was expected, wasn't it ?

I don't care if the camera is ugly. My FA77 doesn't either. Nor do the photons hitting the sensor.

Only guessing, but don't expect any change from $2500.
I guess if this is the case I would not be giving up my k5iis any time soon

Not according to JPT - who saw it.

hopefully the body will be half the size of the K-5 and the battery grip will be at least ten times bigger so dainty types can use it as a handbag accessory and muscle types can use it as a sledge hammer... heck maybe it can also be used for making photos?

It IS big compared to a K-7. The rear end of the 31 Limited fills about 85% of the height (minus the prism) of the K-7. The FF dwarfs the 31 Limited. The FF prototype is by far the largest K-mount camera ever and it is a beast. So is the K-3 BTW......

It is only the size of the pentaprism, and (necessarily) the width of the top of the mirror box (which tapers in markedly on the K-3), which makes it appear to "dwarf" the FA31

Compare these two photos, make some measurements, and come back if you disagree. I didn't get the angle of the comparison shot exactly right but they are taken with lenses with essentially the same angle of view to avoid parallax errors.

The image from CP+ was taken by Forum member Vizke with a compact camera - 35mm equivalent 73mm according to the EXIF. Mine was taken with a K-S1 and my A50/1.2

It is quite taller too but very reasonable IMO.

Go to camerasize.com and compare a K-3 to a D810 or D610. Then come back to the Forum and view one of the scaled overlays. If they are accurate the K-FF will be small for a FF camera (less so vs. the D610, but still).

here is an accurate side-by-side comparison of a K-3 vs. D750 vs. K-FF. Basically, the new camera is "about" the size of a D750 (however, it is a touch taller)

For how long we've waited, we are entitled to our serious denial! We're going back to the dark ages with our love for a full frame.

You're not the only one - I don't think it's the ugliest camera ever, but the mirror box with its weird pyramid is seriously hideous. I hope they'll replace it with something that looks more like the K3.

I think you are polluted by all existing rubbish and didn't get it right : such a bump has nothing to do with style.... it IS the pentaprism.
