I misspelled it, it should of course be or, not og, and I'm Norwegian. Maybe that's why I in a hurry made that mistake.

It is not necessary.
Now we have almost all important building blocks of a new FF camera.
It will be very similar to K3II but bigger + new AF (from my previous post in this thread) + 36MP sensor.
Not sure about the name but if tradition is important to Ricoh I expect K2 label on Pentax first digital FF body. Or MZ-D II (just kidding).

Whatever the name is... just don't remind us of the failed FF attempt years ago with similar name... or else, Pentax is really dooooooomed.

It will be just a little bit bigger than K3II, I guess the name would be K2 or K-2, With the same font as in 1975...

We don't now anything about the AF, do we? The fact that there is a patent does not mean it will be used in the first FF, or that it will ever be used at all. It's just an idea they patented, and there is lots of unused patents.

This might be a good time for Pentax to rethink how they name cameras.

They had K-7 followed by K-5 followed by K-5ii followed by K-3 followed by K-3ii.
Going to less expensive models, they had K-30 followed by the not-much-different K-50 ... and then suddenly we have names like K-S1 and K-S2!
There was also the K-500, which was the least expensive of all ... and let us not forget the K-01.
And if you look at eBay, you can still find names like K-r and K-x.

Someone new to the brand would be justified in inferring info from the numbers that just plain isn't there.

Yes ! I agree ! Before the series where not very logical in number (K3 after K5 whereas K50 is after K30... Not so logic) but at least the number of digit was a good way to classify cameras : 1 digit for pro level, 2 for intermediate and 3 for entry level. It follows a bit the Canon names (700D, 70D, 7D..)

I have an idea: engineers should never name anything.
The whole camera industry has an ongoing (and legacy) naming problem.
The weirder the better it would seem.

I'm not quite sure the naming was done by the engineers, actually. At least the K-7 name was given by "Hoyadiot"

At least Pentax followed the practice of one camera one name.
In the US, Canon Rebel users were seeing XT, XTi, XSi, T1i, T2i, T3i,... while in Europe they were seeing 350D, 400D, 450D, 500D, 550D, 600D, ...
In the auto industry, engineering may give a development name to each car, but apparently marketing decides what names we will actually see.
I really do hope that senior Ricoh-Pentax management sees the opportunity here.

Indeed. And on the bottom plate we would have the version number. Just like that
