I too hope that the new FF inherits some of the strong design of the old 6x7. It was/is a great looking camera.
The 6x7 used much of the design of the original hotshoe-less Spotmatic, which IMHO was one of the most beautiful (SLR) cameras ever made.

I wonder if they are going to introduce a few different models of full frame cameras? That would be really exciting. The bodies would be mostly the same but the innards would be different. It has happened before.

I would like to see 36Mp sensor from D810 in Pentax FF, but that 24Mp sensor from D750 is really better in low light.
D750 sensor at ISO12800 looks better than D810 sensor at ISO6400.
It is obvious without pixel peeping:
It is neither obvious nor true.
At 6400, there is no, at 12800, there is an invisible 1/6 stop advantage for the D750.
For delicate questions such as this, don't trust sources other than DxO. My humble advice.

If you refer to Mark II, i dont know why they changed things there. But with the FF, its another story. They need to be ahead here. They can't afford to deliver with the same sensors as cameras that are on the marked today. Then Pentax will be parked again in few months. There is a good reason for the FF not coming before end of the year.
which year??!!
what reason come on,it must be out in the wild now..Sony has a new 46MP out very soon ,have they 'borrowed' that one & forgot to return it

Agree with you, I think they will release only one full frame at first in order to compet with Canon 5D and Nikon D810. But in the long run, a fast FF with less pixels and more sensitivity in low light would be great. Something in the style of Canon 1DX and Nikon D4s. I believe that a good 12 or 16MPx sensor would be enough there ! But AF system will need huge improvements...

Great, we can now rule out a few sensors.
