It is always going to be new to Pentax (unless they put in a 15 year old 6mp ccd made by Philips, who has long since sold that business)

That is what the americans would call classified information All i can say, is that the reason for the FF not coming before end of year, is that they want to make shure they have the newest and best sensor available.

Dont know when, but those 3 mentioned will be out latest around the release of the FF.

It won't be as high as 46 wish i could share more..maybe when its getting closer to release.

So its not the same pixel density as the 20MP in the KS-2. Sony was rumored to have an 18MP APS-C sensor in the works and that would scale to 42MP+/- on a FF.

Pretty sure the sensor and image quality will to top of the line. Its the AF that is going to make or break the camera for professionals.

Yes, thats my concern..The AF have to be much much better on the FF. But the lenses and sensor quality is no concern at all

If the new FF has 40 MP PS then he can take a good hi res shot of his fingers before...& stitch them on in the right place after

RAW files were converted to jpeg with the same software using default parameters and without any additional postprocessing.

Either additional postprocessing involves scaling (which almost certainly has wrong parameters for noise comparisons) or not (which means you can't compare at all).

to compare noise between two cameras of different resolution, BOTH have to be scaled down to a common resolution, using bilinear supersampling to like 8 mega pixels. did you or your source do so?
