Exactly. Guys, face it: there may never be an aperture coupler - it's one of the few things they've done to keep at least the less-hardcore from not only using ancient glass. After all, they do need to sell new lenses.

What exactly would an aperture/stop-down coupler do? Is it the same the green button does ? Or is it that a green button wouldn't be necessary one there is a coupler in place? If the FF will have a green button to stop down legacy lenses (K-,M-mounts and M42) then it'll be okay for me? Or am I understanding this wrong?

But legacy-lens Pentax enthusiasts are important (especially in Japan)
How about Green Button stop-down metering? - it is a 'solution'

Frankly, I believe a generous solution. They could have just punted.

It's how one says "Not happening under any set of circumstances" in Japanese. The word "difficult" (muzukashii) is not the one you ever want to hear from a Japanese person. And if they say "a bit difficult" (chotto muzukashii) with some stumbling and stuttering that's even worse.

In Japanese business-speak, "I think that's a good idea" or "I think it's important" is a polite "no", a flat negative is a "hell, no".

I don't buy it. The coupler ring takes up no extra space, the K mount was designed with it in place back in 1975! The ME series of slrs were the smallest made & cost is probably pennies per unit.

It'd be an ironic shame for Pentax to put out a K2 FF DSLR to commemorate 40 years of K mount and have it crippled!!

Yes it does and with it a complete separate measuring system. It is no way trivial (but I still want it).

I was surprised at the question, and even excited they addressed it. Right up to when he said "difficult". So, no it is not going to happen. I believe the reason was lack of space and I was surprised he even addressed a reason. That indicates there was a specific reason it was removed in the first place though it might not be the same reason it will not be put back in.

They need to sell more new lenses.
