Ricoh full booth in England's Photo Show

ePhotozine posted this this week.

Taking up residence at the four-day show on stand C111 the Ricoh Imaging UK team will be showcasing a wide range of products including the Pentax 645Z, K-S2, a full line up of lenses (including the much anticipated latest launches) as well as the multi-award winning Pentax K-3 DSLR, the rugged WG-M1 action camera and the latest 360° camera to join the line-up, the RICOH Theta m15.

Now that's a proper booth synopsis. Much more refreshing than the typical DPR "We're not biased" writeup.

I need to quit looking at ads and reviews of the Theta. It's becoming more and more tempting.

It does look like a very cool little toy doesn't it? .
Price is not that bad either... what are you waiting for? You know you want it

That is good. The only thing is that the importance of these shows and camera magazines (on paper) are lossing importance very quickly.

I donīt agree, if Richo have a big stand there, people can feel and try all lenses and cameras there (as they canīt at a shop). And some buy stuff from that they have seen and hopefully some changes to Pentax.
I think Richo have a big stand there, and also at the future big exhibitions.

Personally, with the lack of stock in stores, the ability to use these lenses in real life becomes even more critical for Ricoh. The shows may be the only place left I'll ever be able to see the D FA 70-200 or D FA 150-450. If they are not at Henry's "EXPOsure" this year, I may not ever see one.

It's much, much better than the "shared" stand they had at the last minute last year (in conjunction with a dealer - can't remember who but it wan't one of the UK "biggies" such as SRS or Clifton). The stall was staffed with demonstrators pulled from Jessops stores I think. It is no-where near the size of Nikon etc, but I'm pleased they will have what I want to see there. I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I've got a K5-II and lots of lenses (along with a 60-250 + tele). I quite fancy a 70-200 and/or the 150-450 but can't really afford both. I'm not too sure what to do - flog my 60-250, get the cash and buy a 70-200 2/8 from Pentax or get a Tamron 70-210 and also the Pentax 150-450. I work with someone who is one of Pentax's UK ambassadors who has a K3, 16-50, 50-135 and a DA*300 and we swap/share gear when needed. Some of this depends on how noisy the Tamron is and how quick the Pentax lenses are. The only way I'm likely to get to see the Pentax version of the Tamron 70-200 is a 250 round-trip to Watford to SRS which is the closed main dealer to me. I'm not that fussed about full-frame at the moment. Anyone got any thoughts on this...

I just received another update from UK's Pentax User, and they are promoting hands on with the 645Z at the booth. Ricoh UK seems to be rather on the ball to me.

They're very interesting in lots of ways. The packaging clearly takes a page from Apple - really, it's almost scary how good the copy of an iPhone box is. Marketing language is not camera language at all. Visual design is 2001 - A Space Odyssey. I half expected the lens to be red.

Theta is REALLY FUN!!!* They're not a big investment and - especially for use in social settings - people love the novelty. You can play pictures in a neat new way, too - it really exercises your visualization capabilities. I wonder whether the birdies would accept one mounted on a tripod near the feeders and controlled by a phone?

Once I learn how to make the computer images work right I'll post up. I've had some fun doing a special image I hope to make ready tomorrow for another thread.

* Clearly I succumbed to some kind of impulsive xBA last month.
