I have been debating on weather I should buy a k20d and a 50-135 or wait and see what pentax offers in the future and just buy a 50-135 and the da 300 now. I was leaning towards the k20d route because I have GAS but then I ran across this thread on dpreview New Pentax DSLR(s?) this year, Hoya aims: News Discussion Forum: Digital Photography Review

Seems the pentax ceo (?) has said that pentax will release a new model in the 2 half of the year. So does anyone think that they are going to release a model above the k20d or are these bodies more likely to be entry level?

I know some of you hate these speculation threads but they really do help some of us with our decisions.

It's nearly always better to spend on the glass. Buy the new camera if you need it, otherwise buy the lenses.

Even if it's announced later this year, you're not likely to be able to get your hand on one for a while after that. If you have a DSLR it COULD be worth the wait, but if this is your first DSLR you're looking at buying, got one now, and you won't miss all the great pictures you'll take between now and then!

I have the GX10 now. As far as the body goes I just have GAS (Gear Aquisition syndrome).

I would go for the glass too if you already have a cam.

What we know already is this: there is a lower end (< K200D) in the make due to be announced before or at Photokina this year.

I don't know nothing about the higher end though (if its comming at all.)

I think they will release a high end 25-30 mega pixel pro version and an entry level 10 mega pixel camera.

If you've got the camera, get the lenses and wait. If you didn't have a camera, I'd say just get a k20 now rather than wait, because you never know what shot's you'd miss waiting for the new camera. The 50-135 is supposed to be a fantastic lens, same with the 300. Besides, announcing != (does not equal) availabilty. The K20 and 55-300 were both announced in January, with the K20 being available in march and the 55-300 not being available til may.

...and for those of you who cannot afford their LBA (Lens Buying Addiction) + GAS, well that's known amongst my friends as Gear Envy!!

If you didn't have a camera, I'd say just get a k20 now rather than wait, because you never know what shot's you'd miss waiting for the new camera. The 50-135 is supposed to be a fantastic lens, same with the 300. Besides, announcing != (does not equal) availabilty. The K20 and 55-300 were both announced in January, with the K20 being available in march and the 55-300 not being available til may.
