That would be some show, "Pentax: The Musical!"

ACT 1: Origin Story
ACT 2: The K-Mount Awakens
ACT 3: SLR Wars ("Use the K, young Jedi, the K")
ACT 4: Lost in Space (includes #1 hit, "Pentax is Dead")
ACT 5: Return of the K-Mount

Actually, if is was programmed properly, the RAW files should be interpreted solely based on metadata, not on model name tags.
Isn't model name tag part of the metadata? Do the various image processing softwares actually make any use of the tag? (I'm not sure why they would fail on a new tag if they don't actually make some use of it)

My point exactly. The curves and some hardware specific tweaks, plus the exif may not be right, but at least it opens. No one uses the provided software (or almost no one) so essentially you are stuck to bit level editing of exif tags in the raw until someone gets around to updating the software.

This just in. The new K3ii is reported that It will "cure" previous SDM ailments instantaneously. Just put your lenses with failed motors or screw drive converted and they'll be as good as new...

What, no "The Ricoh strikes back"? I thought that's the best part of all...

It will cure a broken SDM drive? Or it will just automatically switch to screwdrive? Will it also make SDM faster?

K-3 II basic specs of does not seem the same as the very large K-3, but the creation and GPS built-in high-quality image with pixel shift, such as the improvement of the follow-up of the AF is of major changes sounds like.

Since the flash in K-3 II is like not being built, GPS and electronic compass in that space, I might have put features such as Astro tracer.

Specs don't seem particularly better than K3, but I guess question is how it operates in practice and if there is sensor improvement.

No Flash but GPS and superresolution (if that works..) Wifi still via Fluke Card apparently a new sensor but no new image processor. Synchro Terminal (for flash?) and an Improved Anchimoare function. Whatever that may be (clarity enhancement like the k-s2 probably) Announced on Thursday.

Also it can do 60p Full HD (that was 1080i)

It looks to me like this is more like a sister model to the existing K-3, rather than a replacement. It's actually pretty neat that you can choose to have either the GPS/Astrotracer or the flash built in, buy the other as an add-on if you want. Also you can get it with the rather good DA16-85

If we're lucky, some of these features could be added to the K-3 in a firmware update.

D1N0 - It's improved "Anti-moire" as transliterated into Japanese kana and then back into roman script by Google.
