Didn't I read somewhere that Pentax will get 3 new cameras this year, and 2 of them will be FF. Hmmm...could the K-3II be an entry level FF ? The body has the size to do it.

Did anyone found the pixel shifting option after updating their camera with the new firmware to activate the super resolution on the K-3 ?

Haha..Stuff i do for Ricoh, is just a small % of my workday. I do photography, graphic design and web-design But convince Ricoh to hire me 100%, and it will make my day a lot easier

No, Pentax is not doomed.

If the K3II rocks it will be the first thing I have ever bought brand new made by Pentax, Hoya, or Ricoh.

I nearly bought Hoya progressive eyeglass lenses with Pentax SMC coatings but they were too expensive. I suspect that the SMC patents were the real reason that Hoya bought a camera company.

K-5 owner willing to upgrade.

Peace?

It could be a K-3II with the 24Mpixel FF sensor of the D600, only available in live view mode. You'd only need to use the optical viewfinder to have the crop version for APS-C lenses.

Careful. You don't KNOW he's paid.

The K3 is a specialized, Macro, Action, Wildlife camera. Improving AF should be their top priority.
Pentax has been known for quite some time as landscape, studio and wildlife. It has never been known as an action camera company and hasn't really been known for reportage since AP converted to Nikon in 1970.

They'll still need an APSc flagship. My wager is there will be one, flagship FF camera this year.

My question is, "Where's the APSc mid-range?"

So you're also looking for a K-50ii?

The new K-3 could be with more optimized energy management and lower ISO (ISO 50), improved dynamic range, and no Ricoh logo at the back.

The improved AF of course wouldn't do much good as long as the slow SDM lenses can't keep up.

The SDMs are going to be phased out of production, I thought that was common knowledge at this point...
