I hear you on that. The perception is, amongst other camera users such is Canon or Nikon users, is that if you don't have a lot of AF points, you are not good enough. I actually use single point a majority of the time because I want to be in control of where my AF will occur.
We might take it upside/down and say to those guys (not that it is really true but just for the fun) that if they need more points it is to mask their own incompetence. They might also learn how to focus.

This a lot more complex of course but stupid bragging rights statements are so full of it.

I do, too, but if I was shooting anything fast moving, I'd be using either multi-point AF or CIF. I keep threatening to take my K-3 and FA*80-200 or F*300 to a race track to shoot a friend and his mates racing motorbikes, so perhaps I'll develop a little more of a view on this subject.

Tuesday through Thursday it seems for the unveiling of specs. I wonder when it will be available for purchase?!

Asahi man said the leaked K3ii pic was legit, from the looks of it the camera might not have a built in flash. I don't know if this is an issue for most, last time I checked the Pentax AF 200 FG was $45 on Amazon
If true, it's going to look very similar to the FF, foreshadowing some of its features. Too bad my used k3 doesn't fetch as much as it used too ( its value will dip further in the months to come) I was really planing to retire with it, maybe a ff in a couple of years. Ricoh really caught me off guard, springing the K3ii ( if it had been a canon release we'd heard of it last fall)

May be the reason for the AF 201 FG

Damn it, I am supposed to be buying a house. I don't need the extra temptation of the K-3II!

Ohhh no, it's so logical that you just destroyed my hopes for a build-in radio trigger.

You can always put ur Pentax legacy gear as collateral, two new dfas + K3ii, FF as down payment. You might have to rent a little longer but those shots would look glorious.

I'm hearing rumors on a summer holiday release, April -June. I'm sure Ricoh will make some date official when the specs are released in a day or two.

Note to myself: best time for an Aps-c upgrade, right before the release/update of a FF model.

It doesn't control external flashes, as far as I know.
And it seems like there is a pop-up flash, looking at the picture.

It can be used as a controller.

The consensus is there isn't a pop up flash pictured, a few more days and we'll know for certain.
