From what I see, there is a pop-up flash - no "consensus" can change it.

(A few thoughts/ speculations)

The reason why Ricoh seems to keep the cards close to their chest has to do with its competition, they're really serious about making THE BEST APS-C format camera out there (no reservations). The brand doesn't seem to show the insecurities it once did, ( as in -this feature might not be good enough, but we still got this other feature to compete with) It's all or nothing gameplan. It's like watching a pimple faced teenager make their transition to adulthood.

It's the same with the new FF, my guess is they'll release its specs a month or two before its release, still waiting on the Q4 sensors to materialize. Assuming they cross all their T's (troubleshoot bugs), the K3 Mark II release is going to be unprecedented in the amount of upgrades it will likely offer (thanks to the upcoming FF). My only worries right now is finding the cash to buy one, and wondering how will they be able to outdo themselves when the K3IIs comes around.
Perhaps there won't be a "S" model anymore who knows.

I don't see them leaving off a pop up flash. I don't know of any other competitive APS-C models that don't include a pop up flash.

Ricoh released two (inexpensive) flashes, AF 200FG and the 201FG, why do you think that is? We know the FF won't have it, and the K3II will likely be packed with FF tech. They're not following trends anymore, they're leading by example (cocky little sh*#$%^

) My analogy of a teen reaching adulthood is somewhat apropos.
