Guys, specs are well and dandy, we're months away from its release, we won't be seeing the results of its sensor ( DR and Low ISO performance) or real world buffering tests. The specs are just the peanuts before the entree.

The improved video capabilty with the same prime III points to a new sensor. When on par or a little better than the one in the D7200 that would also be a nice improvement

The real question is know the sensor. I personally like the choice to add the GPS unit over the flash. I wait for the FF anyway.

Frankly I don't find it that surprisingsurprising. The K5II, after all, was only an incremental upgrade to the original K-5, the only significant differences being the updated AF and the lack of AA filter on the IIs.

If anything, this one goes a bit further (GPS, superresolution) than the K-5 to K-5II leap, and I wasn't expecting some of the big advancements that others in this thread were.
If we look at the competitor, they use the same "tick-tock" strategy :
- tick : new body, new sensor
- tock : improvement of the existing - incremental upgrade
- tick : ....

Anyway, i'm quite happy that a new body may be out soon, i'll have even better deal on used K5II or K3

You'd better wait to see the price, until you can say that this will make the prices of secondhand drop. After what I've seen so far, I will not be surprised to be around 1300, or more.

About specs, looks more like speculations to me. But I can be wrong.

An official unveiling SHOULD have more specs/details, product images, a release date and price......

Hmmm. The flash is way more useful than GPS or Compass. GPS and compass have NO EFFECT on picture quality. A flash can make or break the shot. I didn't have a flash with me, but had one built into the D200 and popped it up. It made this shot happen. With the new K3II I'd have been SOL. Who cares if I knew where this photo was made if it sucked?

Why on earth did they get rid of in-built flash?? This omission seems utterly uncalled for. Do they think the 24 MP sony sensor is a low light beast like the A7S? Oh wait maybe it is a FULL FRAME sensor. Or maybe Ricoh is super duper confident of the low light abilities of this 24 MP sensor :-P

This plus is the K-3 will (seemingly) be discontinued once this body comes on the market.. meaning the K-3 will be CHEAPer!

Won't have cash for a FF body for years.. but might could swing a K-3 classic once they hit $500 (and they will oh how they will).

Hard to know.

A cheap flash is cheaper than GPS and brighter than any built in flash.

I was hoping for a better sensor but the pixel shift might make up for it.

My guess is that the K-3 II and the K-3 get produced in parallel.
