Do you really think that they would use an old sensor?

Ah, well, if that photo is accurate, definitely no tilting LCD. If it has the same AF engine and processor as the K-3, it will be a little like Q-7 to Q-S1, modulo the integrated GPS. I wonder if they'll bring the other improvements (better AF tracking and pixel shifting) to the K-3 via a firmware upgrade. If the hardware is the same, this should be totally doable...

If this new K-3ii rumor is true, then I'm pretty ticked off. Thats a huge upgrade, 4.5 stops, pixel shifting, built in astrotracer. My K-3 is the fancy "Prestige" model and its only 6 months old and I'm still getting to know it. These are upgrades I would really like.

If it comes out, I'll be biding my time and saving up for a year, then I'll buy it, then 6 months later there'll be something new and with even more features, that I'll want.

I'm just gonna work on sorting out my lens collection and enjoying my K-3 for as long as I can hold out for. Maybe I should have bought a D7100, the D7200 got a few decals and wifi for its upgrade, everyone was like: "What, is that it ? Whats the point?"

Looks like Pentax really wants to be top dog in APSC dslr's.

If Sony doesnt sell the new sensor to Ricoh, because of contract with Nikon... Yes.

Is just a rumor, maybe in a couple of day we all see the new camera

That is not true at all at the general photo discussion forum where I also hang out. Nikon fans treat the D7200 as God's latest gift to mankind, showing at least as much excitement over it as people are showing here over the K-3ii, and Canon fans appear to keep wanting to change the subject.

I think the K3II is more for Pentaxians not having yet upgraded to a K-3. And the advantage of the K3II (if like the K5II and K5IIs) is that it should be free of bugs.
That's the way to see it !

Those who already have the K3 will probably not bother with the K3II.
Those with the "older" cameras: K20D, K7, K5, K5II, K5IIs might consider the upgrade.

We shall soon have the final specs I believe, so decision/consideration time for many of us ?

The K-3ii is targeting the urban hip hop market by making it look like it is wearing a hoodie.

Pentax. Not just for nature freaks and teen Japanese girls any more.

While I'm happy for everyone who has waited for so long to finally know that there will be a FF Pentax soon, I will stay with APSC. I've had the K3 for a year and a half and like it a lot. Been thinking about getting a second body and the K3ll looks like a nice improvement for wildlife photography and possibly scenery as well. Won't buy it this summer but come Black Friday......

This is exactly what I have been asking almost 3 years ago. Remove the useless pop-up flash and add a GPS instead. Thank you RICOH!!

My thoughts exactly. They should remove the built in flash and put a GPS unit there instead. And people worried about battery life, just don't use it. [...]

I'll take the over bet, on whether this thread reaches 13 pages before the announcement - but this is my last contribution.
I'm going to go exercise my K-r, for two days if need be, and avoid the bad guesses masquerading as facts. Hang in there kenspo

And why would Sony sign an exclusivity with Nikon ? Nikon have tried to switch supplier with Toshiba for the D7100, it was a miss, now they ask Sony, can we buy your sensors again ? They are not in a strong position to ask an exclusivity from Sony

Only if Ricoh is just trying to appease the "Pentax should be just like Canon crowd," but I doubt it. 😀

The sensor in the K-3 was already quite old. It was in the Nex-7 and A77 and probably some Nikons before it came in the K-3.
