I have come to appreciate the usefulness of geotagged photos, but the paranoid in me also greatly appreciates the ability to easily turn it off. Props for having a dedicated button for this purpose.

mmmmmmm it doesnt seem that accuarete.. why keep using flucard if the build in wifi is faster and is already tested at the KS2??... WiFi perhaps more than a usuful tool is a great marketing feature, so they better include build in WiFi if they want to compete with the D7200. .. also where is the NFC feature?? mmmm still the GPS was something to expect, and is a great feature .. Dont know but doesnt seem that right this leak.. as Kenspo said.. lets better wait..

Looks like a reasonable incremental upgrade to me.
The II version of any model doesn't usually shake things up all that much from what I have observed. Did many people go from a K-5 to a K-5 II? I know I didn't, my K-5 was still good enough that I waited for the K-3. Chances are I'll skip this one too unless I suddenly need a new camera and the FF isn't available or is too expensive or too big for me.

Because they skip things that are just commonplace in the market that you think would be a no brainer and then add things they may be useful to only say wildlife photographers off the grid. I mean really, an astro tracker but no wifi? Are they looking to gain market share and sell some cameras? There's no way market research came back to them and green lighted that decision. It's just the quirkiness that is Pentax I guess.
The wildlife photographer off the grid is there market. If you've seen any of their interviews, they've said their interest is in making rugged cameras for outdoor stills photography.

How clever: a dual-purpose button!

Asahi Man mentioned the K3ii would feature better low light AF performance (potential expanding the f2.8 sensitive points across the array).

It has to be said, that with this new camera...

What a let down

Specs don't seem particularly better than K3,
I for one am Not impressed,
what happened to the tilt LCD, better AF I don't think this is much of an improvement
we could get some of the functions on a FW upgrade for the k3

I will wait a few weeks to see the price,
but it does look like I will be ordering the Prestige Gunmetal K3.
I hope the k3 comes down a bit more in price

its so disappointing if This is what Pentax call a newer K3ii

As previously said, not much of an upgrade from the original K3 but enought for those coming from "older" cameras.

I was expecting more than this. Maybe Ricoh save the best for the fullframe.

I will NOT buy any camera with out at least tilting display or tilting EVF. To take close up pictures close the ground is really difficult with NOT tilting display or EVF.
For sure I could use 90 degree loop, but that is not so convinient.

No no no! waiting is out of the question!
Pentax is doomed...DOOMED!!!

What a bunch of WHINERS! Oh, my God...4.5 stops of internal shake reduction, available on a 45 year old 50mm f2 lens you buy in the pawnshop...IT'S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!

The thing looks fabulous, and we'll see on Thursday.

Thanks, Kenspo!

Cheers,
Cameron

I thought the wildlife photographer off the grid carried a 7d m2? I have seen their interviews, and the only thing they ever say is that they are looking into looking into whatever feature the interviewer brings up.

It is an interesting target market then, some cameras for the rugged outdoor shooter and others for Japanese teen girls. Makes perfect sense.
