I mean really, an astro tracker but no wifi? Are they looking to gain market share and sell some cameras? There's no way market research came back to them and green lighted that decision. It's just the quirkiness that is Pentax I guess.
Unless this is a test-bed for the FF DSLR. They already know how to do WiFi and maybe the K-3 II will help them refine and prove out the pixel shifting technology.

The official release should include more info, release date and price.

I have thought about "pixel/sensor shift super resolution" sort of things before, given the technology we've today this is absolutely possible to achieve, but I seriously doubted the 'micro movement' of the sensor module can still be maintain and accurate after heavy use of the camera. Bumps and drops of the camera are not uncommon if you are a serious photographer, I dropped and bumped both my K5 and K3 few times, the SR still works I think it requires less sensor movement accuracy, but for super high res. I think is different thing, and the K3 simulated AA filter made very little different I can't really tell it is at work, or I am completely wrong in this matter ?

If the inbuilt GPS actually enables astrotracing without the O-GPS1 unit, that would make it a great camera for night sky photography.

There is no contact, just a retrofitted electro magnetic field so I see no reason for it to be affected more than other electronics.

What is the synchro terminal mentioned in the "leaked" google translated specs ?

I'd imagine a remote flash synchronisation function

Sure, but let's be real, what is a bigger money maker for them, k3 or FF? The FF market worldwide just isn't all that big. I can't imagine using their financial work horse as a guinea pig for FF, which is going to be more of a marketing tool than anything.

The leaked specifications are correct, even if somewhat incomplete.
So now you've kept me up for another entire night.

What happened to the rumored improved AF? Judging only by the leaked specs, this is no different than the current K3.

I was not planning on jumping the K3 bandwagon at all, at any time, but I was still hopeful of a real improvement in that area. One thing I believe would actually make a huge difference would be wider frame coverage with cross type focus points. I love taking photos with aperture wide open or close to that, and focus and recompose with central point sends the focus off when recomposing. Wider coverage would greatly help with that.

Still awaiting the FF.

"Terminal" = connector.

The so-called 'leaked' specifications include:

- コンティニュアスAFの精度改善

which means "Improved accuracy of continuous autofocus."

I will NOT buy any camera with out at least tilting display or tilting EVF. To take close up pictures close the ground is really difficult with NOT tilting display or EVF.
For sure I could use 90 degree loop, but that is not so convinient.

That would be great! The Astrotracer function is really cool, with these, more people could go stargazing!
