Originally posted by Racerdew I think it sounds on par for a Mark II. They are usually upgrades on the same equipment and not a new style of camera. It should target buyers who will leap frog from an older camera (mine K5 IIs) to the K3 IIs. The idea is to tweak what could have been better and then offer the upgrade. This is probably not the camera for K3 owners. Pentax is filling the gap with this camera and making their best, better. Later this year the FF will come out and that will be the talk of the town.
Wait till we see that glorious new sensor's DR and high ISO performance, you might then change your mind...
Do I have to remind folks on the K5/ii/s model upgrades, same sensor---> improved AF ----> lack of AA filter (about the gist of it)
The K3 had a page or so of features, the K3ii added and additional page. I don't know what people mean by an "expected" Mark II update (since its relative) but make no mistake, this many features on a Mark II release is UNPRECEDENTED (for any dslr maker). I don't need a flipping 'effing screen to realize this, hope others agree...
.......peace out
