The advantage of pixel shifting is multiple exposures give less noise. I wonder how K-3 with 4x multi-exposure + sharpening compare with K-3II pixel shifting image.

I see someone dont like the Flucard for Wifi use. I can recommend the Eye-fi pro cards. It will give you selective file transfer and it handles RAW.

I know they looked at WIFI build in, but i guess they have a reason for dropping that in Mark II..Will get a better answer on why later.

The transfer of jpegs is easy to do and is accomplished by both the FLUCard and other SD card solutions.
Can any Flucard on the market transfer RAW files? That would be a good upgrade choice if I were to use one (though I don't really care to use wifi either).

Odd marketing that doesn't grab the trumpets of Jericho to sing the praises of the new sensor, if new sensor there is indeed.

Find this very strange Even if they use the same sensor, it has been remade in a very better way. Beside better AF-C, i was told that the ISO handling would be noticeable better. Will have to make some calls tomorrow

Maybe you could get them to name the part name IMX271 or IMX193 Sony Global - Products The 271 doesn't seem necessary if you are not going to use the speed.

I will call first thing tomorrow. Not sure if I'm happy about this.

asahi-man had suggested some sensor and AF hardware upgrades would be there in the v II, so I am somewhat disappointed not to see any mention of either.

We both have been told the same thing. Will call them first thing in the morning to get the facts straight.

Will have answers later.

So, kenspo, how went your phone calls (and your cup of coffee )? Did you learn something about the sensor in K-3 II?

I would definitely like to know whether K-3 II has the same Sony sensor as K-3 or it's an updated version, like for instance the one used by Nikon.

I got an answer in my mail right after my last answer.

The sensor is identical with the Sony one in the K-3. Didn't get any answers on any tweaks or changes they might have done with it.

I was wondering... can't Pentax simply release an updated flucard that will satisfy demands of wi-fi users out there? Does it have to be built in?
To a certain extend perhaps. Like release a SDK. But the WiFi transfer speed of these SD cards usually is much lower than WiFi is capable of.

It's odd that kenspo and others have been told to expect more than there is. Maybe there's a NDA that Pentax needs to follow because the sensor hasn't been officially launched by Sony?
