That rumour of a new flagship to come was launched in December 2014, "announcing" something for February this year.

Guess what was announced on April 7th, 2015?

Ricoh's new APS-C flagship camera under the Pentax brand and successor to Pentax K-3 II will be announced shortly before Photokina 2016. Not sooner.

If you are waiting for a new APS-C flagship, you'll have to wait for a while. Two other cameras will come waaaaaaaay before that one.

That "rumor" was from November/December when Ricoh was planing to announce the FF at CP+.. the saler is Pentax representative around here and they just got a visit from Ricoh Sales Department representative several weeks before that, so the "wait" thing, was refering to the FF and K3ii ..
