The only thing I want from a GRII is a better sealed body so it's less prone to getting dust on the sensor.

I can do without the wireless and the ugly hump they shoehorned it into atop the camera.

I bought my GR three weeks ago. Since then, my K3/K30/KX have all been sleeping pretty inside the cabinet. Originally, I intended the GR as a backup, but now it is my main camera.

And I'm still excited about using the GR. I have the Limited green edition. It's a pretty camera, but the classic all black has better grip, and overall feel. In the end, the better looks won me over, but I'm planning to score another one, as a back up .

Yup, that's the idea

Now waiting/hoping/praying for the price of the GR to plummet with this announcement!

This update is more for marketing purposes than anything else. Casual buyers don't want "old" models and the GR is now 2 years old.

They should have done more during the refresh. My GR is so sharp that I have to be wary of moire patterns on architecture details. I can imagine why they didn't go to 24mp, though:

- 16mp sensors are less expensive
- They didn't want to upgrade the processor and the existing processor might be too slow to handle more pixels.

They had more than 2 years - GR was announced on April, 17, 2013.

And they just add NFC and Wi-Fi, 10 RAW buffer and 1/4000. I'm disappointed

Do we know the sensor has not changed ? Keeping to 16 makes sense to me as its easier to manage for quick/candids, but a new 16 sensor with a better DR would be a really nice improvement to me.

I suppose a newer sensor or lens coating may also slightly improve the colours, which I find at time are a little flat and need a little more pp than say the k3.

Neither of these possible improvements may have been highlighted yet. Just hoping ...

Love my GR but there are thing I miss about the GRDIII so I'm gonna try and pickup a IV in a few weeks if prices come down further. The IV is the most refined of that ilk, and the phase detect AF I miss alot for low-light street walking. The IQ is clearly not as good but that sensor had a certain "something" that I loved and miss it for certain applications.
The GR II ... meh. It's a refinement year, I'll pass. 2017 will be the one to watch.

16 MP is VERY small for in-camera crop mode.

I was ready to buy GRII before announcement and skipped GR. I had sold A12 28 GXR module and had been waiting for new GR more than 2 years.
FA20-35/4 is good at 20 mm, but big for travel. And it's 20 mm, not 18. And not f2.8.

Idk if I've been conditioned or what but I prefer the green ring on Pentax lenses and the red ring on the GR.
It seems odd to me that they keep flip flopping on their lens ring colors for both brands.
