It's so strange to offer camera as new with the same sensor and same lens, in the same body 2 years after GR.

Even Ricoh DSLR have no 16 MP any more ....

Another source says about new sensor, touch screen and Wi-Fi.

The sensor is the same size. We don't know if it will be the same sensor

I'm not sure how usable a 24 mp sensor would be without SR, so I think they may well stick with 16 mp. Changing the lens too much would mean breaking compatibility with the converter lens, so I can see why they would hesitate to do that. It would be great if they added a telephoto converter to the line.

What is interesting is that it looks like Leica will release a 28mm FF compact camera in the same week as the GR. Quite a coincidence, since it's hardly the most common variety of camera. I wonder how many GR IIs you'll be able to buy for the price of one Leica Q?

No doubt for GPS.
Let's hope it is now weathersealed, otherwise i see not much interest in this change.

I can't imagine Ricoh is going to re-release the same camera with a "II" on it. Let's wait to see what they actually deliver.

I think it probably has a 20mp sensor like the K-S1 and S2 but with anti-aliasing filter. (since it has no sr to correct aliasing).

Well the Leica compact ff is out with a 28mm F1/1.7 lens! Won't fit in your pocket though and it only costs about 5 times as much as the new GR II (Presumably).

I suppose, if their marketing department is aware of American buying seasons, that it should be on sale by November 1, in time for Christmas. So going backwards from there... what, three months or so? Probably an announcement August 1. Japanese companies are so good at wrecking sales of their existing products with very long announcement-to-store lead times!
