K3ii to Ship May 28th in USA

Photo Rumors reports that the new K3ii will start shipping on the 28 of May. The manual is currently posted on line at http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/support/man-pdf/k-3-2.pdf

That's what it says on the B&H web site. Exciting! I called them and they had no further information beyond that, so hopefully it will be in on time.

haha I wouldn't be that optimistic on prices 'plummeting' on the K-3 classic that soon. Though I suspect we will see some significant deals in the fall

We may see a slight move downward but the K-3 II will command a premium as Ricoh attempts to recoup R&D costs. God bless all those early adopters!

The best price on the K-3 will occur in the fall after the FF is introduced. The price for a used K-3 is reasonable now, but will get much better. Pentax is offering more camera for the money, and will be interesting to see how the K-3ii sells.

FF and APSC do not compete really. I do not see price change. When a replacement of the K-3, will come than price will drop.

I mean the K-3 familly, K-3 II is not a replacement of K-3.

Pentax has what, a 2% market share? A substantial number of Pentaxians currently using anything from a K-5 to K-3 are waiting for the FF. Some of those cameras will be sold to pay for the FF. When unit sales are so low with a brand like Pentax, 500 K-3 cameras being dumped on the market will quickly drop the price. If even 20 go on ebay you will see the price significantly drop.

All you lucky folk wanting one of these, just a couple of days more to get your camera, my Pentax FF is still away a bit yet I fear.

I have to admit, having a K-5 (not II), I wonder about getting it upgraded but I, presently, am more inclined into going all the way to Full Frame although lenses above 50mm will need replacements (such as gem 50-135).
Financially I can't justify it but FF + Samyang shift lens may be a credible alternative to 4x5 film vue camera.
