Seems odd. "Game changer" is a strong statement. I would expect that a real game changer would be announced on a bigger stage.

Temper your expectations and you won't be disappointed.

Technology that has the potential to "change how photographers work". Doesn't specifically say camera.

Some thinking-outside-the-box thing that dramatically changes the structure of photographing or of PP workflow.

My speculation: User-configurable ROM that allows custom in-camera presets for jpeg development; software to define user-configurable presets; and a cable connection to 'install' the presets menu to the camera ROM.

The new Full Frame camera will no langer support sd-card's in any form, but will work directly in the cloud!

Btw the presenter is a 'Ricoh creative master' and shoots primarily with the 645z system for what its worth.

I don't know what to make out of it but the registration form is professional-oriented: they are requesting the name of the organization, job title and industry.

Indeed but the time of the meeting is three hours later than the usual schedule for Ricoh announcements.

Sceptic here. Why is this 'news' not coming from Japan?

A few days ago they had the 'Photonext 2015' trade show in Tokyo, and all Ricoh offered to the world was a mock-up of some bellows for the 645Z. Now we have a major annoucement - with no company logos or apparent support visible so far from Ricoh anywhere on the web or social media - from a lone photographer in Los Angeles? It just doesn't make much sense.

Plus, if you look at Alex's Facebook page, he announced this event on 28 May, then for the last few days has been chatting away like normal as if there is no big deal ahead at all.

At least, this buzzing tweak looks like a "give me your personnal data" exercice, which to a certain extend is part of our contemporary history

I just hope this doesn't turn out to be like the big Canon announcement last autumn - they had a big countdown clock etc, leaving people hoping for something new, even as simple as an MILC with an EVF, and it was just launching some dumb advertising campaign,
