Perhaps finally we will see working example of glassless lenses, well actually I should say lensless DSLR.
This is my favourite idea. The sensor will be prominent on the front of the body. Focus point, depth of field, focal length, iso can be selected in camera but it can all be changed in post. Noise will be introduced as a visual effect rather than something that needs to be removed. The camera will be tiny. But the computer required for processing will be the size of a room.

my dream features....
a) FF Pentax with pellicle mirror , no more shakes etc with moving mirrors, uninterrupted views at 20fps.
b) electronic shutter with around 1/20K speeds.

and/or
The same features in 645.

These features will effectively provide nearly all the advantages of mirror-less cameras, with additional advantage of having an optical view finder.

Ah, wifi tethering for PCs; Linux, Mac and Windows.
Yeah, that's my guess, more or less. Wifi tethering for Windows, Mac and iOS, with eventual Android support. Sorry, linux fans, I can't see Ricoh supporting you.

It would kind of make sense to me that since they'll have in-body stabilization for the full frame that it wouldn't be too difficult to put it into the MF bodies. They've obviously strengthened the micromotors for the k3 I I so it stands to reason they could handle a larger sensor. Wether that comes out this year is another matter.

They're switching to Android OS and adding a games module. You already have a 4-way controller for games.

Hey.

I can't be there for the thing because I will be at work.

Now that is not fair.

Limited server capacity?

But of course, it also lays on the hype.

Indeed but the time of the meeting is three hours later than the usual schedule for Ricoh announcements.

By the way, I love the 'Personal message from Alex Munoz': "Join me when we make history!"

Sceptic here. Why is this 'news' not coming from Japan?

A few days ago they had the 'Photonext 2015' trade show in Tokyo, and all Ricoh offered to the world was a mock-up of some bellows for the 645Z. Now we have a major annoucement - with no company logos or apparent support visible so far from Ricoh anywhere on the web or social media - from a lone photographer in Los Angeles? It just doesn't make much sense.

Plus, if you look at Alex's Facebook page, he announced this event on 28 May, then for the last few days has been chatting away like normal as if there is no big deal ahead at all.

Hey, it looks like you guys maxed out the registrations. Well done!
It's a secret plot.

Everyone who tunes in for the web presentation will become zombies brainwashed to do the bidding of the livE hociR.

No one has said this yet - i guess i'm the only one to know. They are actually announcing that Pentax's movie mode is now going to be better than the canon cinema camera line, or than the Red cameras, with lowlight better than the A7s, at only 12k resolution.

Duh.
The location of the announcement in Los Angeles, home of movies and cinema, kind of lends this credence. It's where Canon made their big EOS cinema camera announcements. But Canon brought across top executives from Japan to lead the launch of that gear. And Alex isn't even primarily a video guy.

But 4K+ digital cinema seems a busy area where people don't seem to be afraid to spend money, and with the 645 family of gear Pentax may be able to do something interesting there, I guess.
