Nope, they would not. A-mount would be killed (if it isn't already dead enough), for sure but E mount would be maintained for mirrorless.
It is there and works, however we might feel about it and has its place on the market. Ricoh won't reinvent the wheel (but they might invent something else).
I'm just being silly, but I would love to see the Sony E/FE mount devotees go sub-atomic if Ricoh actually bought the Sony camera division to shut it down...

Better business sense would have Ricoh buying the camera division of Sony to gain immediate access to superior sensors and get a solid MILC product / other technology that could be propagated to the rest of the Ricoh family.

I won't even think about it between the time I turn off my computer tonight and when I log back on here tomorrow.

Personally I don't like this type of stunt where you are supposed to commit to something and you don't know what it is at all, all they tell you is that it is great.
Yeah right, great for whom? The MF-guys? The FF-guys? The APS-C guys? Am I in this group for whom it is great?

645Z and lenses available on a 'per-use' basis, worldwide, on demand, for a fee.
Or something to do with a professional service offering.

If I were to engage is this thread of rampant speculation instead of obeying my better instincts and just assuming this is all hype I would look at the tags applied to this thread by the OP.

If you search on: "sensor", "sigma", "technology" and "Sony" you get this: Sony patent shows off 3-layer sensor with shifting micro lenses | SonyFF.com and this: Sigma announce joint venture sensor development with Sony!: Sigma Camera Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

And since the 'presenter' is a MF format guy one would assume this has something to do with the 645 line. Of course he says he likes MF because of the increased resolution so perhaps he has been testing the FF with a new high resolution sensor. Kenspo has repeatedly stated the FF will have the newest possible sensor and will not be released until the sensor is ready.

The camera sales force at Best Buy would commit mass suicide.*

So that's like almost a two day delay here, before we get the news.

There has to be some benefit from living here, on the opposite side of the world: I'll be watching over a nice morning tea break in my favourite coffee palace.

You mean apart from the sunshine.

So you'll get to know it before we all do... so you can tip us the wink.

New printer technology. Ricoh is entering into the professional/fine art printer market.
