It's still a long wait, they said 6pm Pacific time. Really looking forward to the announcement, but from previous experiences (other manufacturers included) I think it will be just some marketing/sales talk. I'll be surprised if they announce FF camera

The fact is, since the release of the FF announcement, when Adam initiates a new thread like this, we tend to suspect he knows enough about the subject (but without saying so) to drop us a hint that it's worth taking notice of. In this case, though, his recent comments indicate that probably isn't so. None of our members who have real insight into Ricoh's forthcoming hardware items seems to have a clue about it, either.

So, on the strength of that and what's been said in the pre-announcement publicity, I'd guess that this is about professional work flow, probably initially relating to the present MF cameras, and maybe passing on to the FF series when they appear. So, maybe it's to do with an integrated software solution that takes the photographer from work planning, through shooting (tethered by wire, of course) to processing and client presentation then production (maybe web and print). Only another fifteen hours, and I'll know whether this is in the ballpark or not, but I'm hardly losing any sleep over it.

IMHO there can't be any truly significant announcements without some leaks or internally distributed information. I think this thread's title is way too ambitious - Adam tries to make us post a lot - but Ricoh will take the blame if our speculation and wet dreams won't happen.
By re-reading the Ricoh-provided content - "This is about sharpness, resolution, speed, fidelity, and so much more. It's a game changer." - I'm more and more convinced this describes the 645z. Which is a game changer - in the medium format market; but of course it can't change "everything".
