Quite limited at less than a 1.5x zoom ratio. I would've hoped it would be at least around 24-50 to be roughly analogous to the 18-35 on APS-C.

Looks about the same length and little fatter (82mm filter) than the 18-35 (72mm filter), so a big lens.

I hope it comes out. But there isn't much of a reason for it to be launched until the FF is out, so Sigma might as well delay the K-mount version by the typical year.

Why didn't they simply update their old 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM?
24-35 seems a strange choice.

Strange choice, yes ! The main interest I can see is for video...
I have read somewhere that they wanted to do several 'ultrafast zoom' like 18-35 f/1.8. At least this 24-35 is DG and not DC...

Turns out it's basically a 18-35 limited to 24mm and F2 for acceptable vignetting

(I'm joking btw)

Interesting, but not tempting.

Very odd, since their 30mm and 28mm primes are quite nice.

A 12-35 or 45 would be very tempting, though, if FF compatible even moreso.

This lens would sell well in K-mount, because so far Pentax primes between 15mm and 35mm are all slower than f3.2*. If this thing is f2 and similar IQ to primes, then its a great focal length for FF and even okay for APSC (though some of the image circle is wasted). Hope it has no AF problems. Pentax is sorely missing some fast glass in the range between 24 and 28mm. This gap is especially confusing since Pentax cameras so far are APSC, and 28mm would be a good "normal" FoV.

*FA 35mm f2 is the fastest, but even that one has been replaced by DA 35mm f2.4. The DA 14mm f2.8 is the next fastest WA prime.
