According to extremely reliable sources the 24-70 is 100% Pentax, not a re-badge in any manner at all. So is the 24-105.
This makes sense seeing as the current incarnation of the Tamron 24-70 is a VC lens and is their only current "Di" fast zoom not available for Sony (which, like Pentax, has in-body image stabilization). A rebadge wouldn't make any sense.

Ah. So it is a 24-105. I want one!

I really don't understand where this rebadged Tamron stuff comes from...

According to sources . . . And I'm not a source. We'll know soon enough.

The war for share (Per Ricoh CEO note of last year) is on, and unfolding before us... Canon is more woried about PTX as a fast-follower than Nikon... I saw this dozens of times when I worked in Japan, for a highly competitive conglomerate. Canon is saying by this that Pentax is "old news" technology. Very impressive chess move...
Two advanced announcements in 24h on the megapixel terrain...
Seems Canon marketing is pannicking.... the forthcomming K-2 could well appear like a thunderstorm for their last 5DsR release .... sounds like good news for it's price ...

I noticed with the recent Theta S release that some reviewers had a version available to them a few weeks before the public release of the Theta S.

If the Oct 6 launch date is accurate, the same thing should start happening soon in relation to the Pentax FF, which increases the scope for leaks.

On your last sentence... This "rebadging " is based on what facts? I am curious, since it would be a Major strategic change (that lens in that class) being a rebadge. If it is a DFA*, Tamron materials quality would likely be seen as substandard. If Tamron is the Sub-contractor, makes sense. A DFA* lens made like the Tamron? I think not...IMHO
My mistake. I meant Tokina, based on the comments to the following post: Tokina released details on their AT-X 24-70 f/2.8 PRO FX full frame lens | Photo Rumors

I'm pretty sure the relationship between Hoya (Tokina) and Pentax isn't the greatest. Even if it was good, as it has been said, Pentax wants to be a serious player so they're developing their own line of pro lenses. No rebadging of 3rd party lenses, they want to be at least as good as Canikon.

I really hate doing this but

Sorry, I'm sticking with my logic, faulty as it may be...

which will probably be a Pentax-branded version of the Tamron 24-70 2.8.
Would also like to see the source of this "probably".

Would also like to know why every time a new lens is rumored it has to be a "rebadge" as if Pentax / Ricoh is not capable of designing and making their own glass. Was the DFA 150-450 a re-badge? Does not look like it. Is the DFA*70-200 a re-badge? From what we have seen and the testers reported, does not look like it. So why is the 24-70 "probably" a re-badge. Seems rather improbable to me, since this lens, more than anything else Ricoh can do will decide the fate of the FF effort. This lens is the foundation of the FF Eco-system. This is the lens they will ride on for the next 5 years. Does it make any sense at all to re-badge someone else's lens? /rant
