Remember that the first leaks concerning K-3 were published 14 days before the actual announcement (11 days for the first picture) and those concerning K-3 II, on the eve of the actual announcement (with pictures).

There should be a blurry camera shot of a black blob that folks can start deconstructing, CSI style, to make predictions about features, etc.

But we already have that black blob, namely the 3d printed plastic mock-up of the FF which was shown behind glass. (Which, on this forum, indeed was deconstructed CSI style )

Tomorrow will be 18 days to go before October 6 and the natives are restless. I'm not interested in FF but whatever will be shown, will affect the designs and features of future APS-C cameras. As for the release, I'm sure if it will be released there will be some fillers.

Hmmm. So the teaser campaign begins, with gradual reveals every week or so.

I really hope 'Spring 2016 debut' means 'available in stores world-wide, but we will provide full details beforehand in October'.

Well at least I can see a "P" at the front of the camera ... so, not a Ricoh!

Very interesting. A public beta release to the pros, leading up to the distribution?

A characteristic of Japanese consumer business is dropping from on high a finished product. Works ok when they were defining the market, but in this instance they aren't. But they could generate lots of interest, hammer out issues, get everyone talking, all the while gaining another few months to finish things off.

I think that Ricoh understands that they can't just say it's out and hope it sells. Time to get out the popcorn.

They have a picture of a real camera..... someone should transpose the K-mount onto the k mount of a K-3 to get some idea of the cameras size. Where are all the photoshop dudes when you need them?

Cue whining and gnashing of teeth....

I wont have the money until then or later anyways, but this news is still disappointing, and it will mean more competition for the FF, but maybe a better product after all.

Looks a bit taller but equally wide. They now have a side view up too, but I dunno how useful that'd be. It does look like they'll have a circular viewfinder eyepiece, though? And a whopping big prism, yay.

I'm afraid that they may have said to themselves, size and weight be damned; instead of pursuing the ultra-light Sony A7R II / Nikon D750 competition, we're going to create a camera that can satisfy the folks who wish they had a 645D/Z instead, and are already OK with the camera being a hefty brick.

For a wildlife photographer and quite a few other types, this is probably just fine. However as someone who was really hoping for the ultimate astro-landscape camera, (since Pentax is the only one putting built-in GPS and IBIS to use for astro-tracing) ...I'd rather have a Nikon D750 sized camera that can be backpacked all over kingdom com without breaking my back...

I guess we'll see. At this point though, I'd say there's a 90% chance this camera will weigh slightly more than the Nikon D810 and Canon 5DsR.
