Do you really want a FF Pentax camera?

In the last 5 years, have moved from Pentax to FF Canon, and I was a bit disappointed. The things I could take photos of and fill the frame were now small and far. No good for my birding and wild animal shooting. Then sold Canon because it was too heavy and moved to Leica, FF and manual lens and black and white photography, I love it. However, I came back to my K3 with my Pentax and old Takumars because nothing bit them. I am not sure I am desiring the FF Pentax as I did before. Been there, done that. Are you ready to buy your FF Pentax as soon as it comes out?

Given that it's likely that it will be more expensive than the DFA 150-450, I think you'll see a lot of people waiting for the price to drop. It's hard to spend a major portion of your camera money on something that will be used for a minor portion of your images. That may not be true for all of us, but, it's true for a large segment of the market.

Your tires are measured half in metric and half in imperial.

as I have the 150-450, I really want the FF to realize the full potential of this lens, and since the FF will have crop capabilities, could be the best all around cam to have,if FPS are above 7 in crop mode.

I don't mind 36MP... D810 seems to be a great camera for landscapes, Pentax FF should be even better. I need to start saving money.

I heard that the delay was because of the sensor. Since they are using the same as for Sony AF7x, they have to wait six months after the Sony release to release the Pentax.

D810 is kinda awesome for almost anything.... even my hit rate for high-fast movement has gone up with the upgrades they did over the D800. its kinda crazy. :P Even the buffer is incredibly quick compared to the D800. I haven't hit the limit yet shooting RAW, but I'm not a machine gunner.

If the new FF can match/exceed the IQ of the D810 as well as deliver stabilization (check), improve the shutter flash sync speed, bring Pentax colour rendering, add AF points, and improve the AF tracking and speed between the new lenses and AF matrix....then deliver it for sub $3000 then we got ourselves a winner here.

The problem is... the successor for the D810 is rumored to be coming soon....

If it is 36 MP, it could mean - not expensive.

Well.. not outrageously expensive at least.

D810 retails for around 2800 USD at the moment. So less than that.. Probably closer to the 2400 dollar price if it really is using the same sensor.

But I think the sensor isn't the whole story.. the AF mechanism.. the processor.. the handling.. they all make up a quality camera body with the sensor to me.
