I often add vignetting to my photographs in post processing, so it's not always a problem!

He knows more than he will tell. Tamron is aware of Pentax's resurgence. When the full frame comes out, it will much easier to make FF lenses for the camer as oppose to designing APS-C glass, to the point where Tamron can afford to cater to pentax users. The same cannot be said for someone like Olympus, not as much, anyway.

It seems the 42mpx rumor is persisting on the web. Kenspo did say that Pentax late 2015 unveiling and 2016 release is due to them waiting on the availability of the latest (Sony) sensors. Given that FF dslrs have a longer lifespan between reiterations having the latest sensor would be a very smart move on Pentax and their consumer base.

I don't think he said that. He only said he didn't think from what Ricoh told him the 42mp a7r2 sensor would be in the FF, but he could be wrong about that because of them 'playing around'. Maybe sony has a new sensor that's still up their sleeve. Or maybe it'll be a variation on the A7RII sensor based on a Pentax prescription. or aimed at dslrs.

Well he's been "criticized" for not paying attention to such details in the past...( like the K3ii would have a new sensor), so I wouldn't read to much into his past posts...
I've been skeptical of Sony's marketing strategy on their Tier 1 sensor products, so I'm not holding my breath on such speculations...

The 42mp rumor originated here based on nothing but the existence of the sensor.

Good idea. I must try it next time I cut the lawn.
Probably a bad idea to risk spoiling your lawn. However, do feel free to experiment on mine

I' d rather speculate on the basis of what Kenspo says than on the basis of what other people say he said, but actually didn't.

Just give us the 16MP sensor from the D4 / DF and be done with it!

A low MP sensor would be the fastest way for me to not buy an FF.

A very high MP sensor would be the fastest way for me to not buy a FF

And your opinion is just as valid as mine.

Assuming similar performance with regard to SNR and dynamic range between low and high megapixel sensor, why wouldn't you choose the higher megapixel sensor?

The biggest problem with the lower megapixel sensors to me, is the fact that they really lose dynamic range in low iso situations. DXO Mark tested DF at dynamic range of 13.1 EVs at base iso, D810 at 14.8 EVs at base iso. Difference in high iso is just 2800 versus 3200 -- a tiny difference.
