Ah, sorry, you are quite right although don't Canon use some kind of on-sensor system in some of their models? I guess the writing's in the wall for the poor old OVF, though. The kind of abilities being introduced on these new sensors might be very hard to replicate using traditional methods.

Because Sony need only 1 process and 1 type of Sensor to make. This is pretty comon for chip makers to have one chip and just disable some feature on the cheaper model. Intel does that a lot. Nvidia does too.

Yes, I'm hoping that is the price with a 2 lens kit and not body only... if this is an accurate price with which to begin..
