New APSC Pentax by early 2016, using Sony A7000 sensor?

Hi.
Anybody saw this rumor?

QuoteQuote:
I now got info from Ricoh and Nikon sources:
They told us that Sony developed a new sensor for the A7000. By contract that sensor could be used by other companies six months after the Sony A7000 announcement. The delay of the A7000 release also changed their product roadmap. To use the new Sony APS-C sensor with hybrid autofocus tech they will have to release their camera sometimes in 2016 instead of late 2015.
[source: A7000 delay and some more info about it (via Ricoh/Nikon sources) | sonyalpharumors ]

(if known, sorry for disturbing and please delete post -- OTOH, the A7000 (A6000 successor) will be especially good in the on-sensor phase detect department; would be interesting to see which kind of product Ricoh is going to make out of it ... also, the exact date of announcement would be 6 month after A7000 )

Yep, I saw this. Fortunately, it doesn't affect me, as I'm too busy shooting with the fabulous K-01.

Pls let Pentax concentrate on doing their FF. No additional rumours allowed. Might distract their engineers.

That, coupled with the new "variable translucent" Pentax mirror, would still make sense...

At this stage of the FF development, given the announced release period, all final design tweaking should be completed, and the early design work on the successor should be beginning. If the Pentax engineers are still working on the first release, then it isn't going to be out this year. Otherwise, they'll be receiving components and gearing up the production line for the first batch, right now.

sr5? Pentax won't need a new sensor until fall 2016 when the K-3 II successor will be launched. Maybe they can try their hand at mirror less again (with a K-mount adapter this time around instead of a boxy thing everybody will laugh at again).

This rumour may explain the K-3 II punt.

I have a K-3 and a6000. If the new sensor is revolutionary, 2016 could be an expensive year.

No! FF is a frivolous distraction from more important APS-C development.

I am hoping that this comes out earlier in 2016 rather than later. My original K-5 (purchased 2ish years after launch) is getting a little worn and I think I will stay with APSC. It's not the price of the FF camera, it's the new LBA that would kill me. I could use my K24 but... I would have to get a new zoom. I would need... APSC is better. APSC is better. APSC is better. for me.

Please, the FF Forum was created for this nonsense. This thread is not about FF.
