I'm taking my LX for a walk this afternoon.

Now that's a viewfinder.

Well, it early 2016...where is the camera? In only a few weeks it will be Q2 and not "early" any more.

You haven't been here long have you? For years we've been hearing, "its'never going to happen". I suspect kenspo has something in his itchy little hands or will soon. That is just so many miles ahead of where we have been for the last 8 years. ( I joined in 2007). We have endless number of idiots coming on here with the "we have a full frame and you don't" routine. I don't really want a full frame. I just want those guys to shut up. I'll be able to say, "I could put it on my credit card tomorrow if I wanted one."

This is about getting back in the faces of those who have been in our faces for years, at this point. And if some day I can afford a second hand full frame, that will be bonus.

Nobody's been around as long as you, Norm (except maybe Rupert, and he's not counting anymore). My comment was in reference to the bright viewfinder posts…

Anyway, with deference to the original thread topic, I also recall people asking why every thread had to turn into a full-frame discussion …

Mathematically speaking, I haven't been around as long as Norm: I registered earlier.

Oh, well. Now I feel old. Can someone share K-1's specs with me to make me feel better?

IN all fairness, I didn't really start posing much until 2009. Used to turn up for Pentax day and post a few photos, but that was about it.

This thread could hit 500 pages before we see a APSC follow-on to the K-3. With say 2 to 3 technical suggestions per page this thread could catalog one thousand to maybe two thousand suggestions for features we want in the K-3 follow on. Great late night reading.

I am not sure saying "The avalanche has already started" is adequate. I think it could be an earthtsunami a 9.5 earthquake with a 300 meter tsunami

No, this thread will end as soon as the announcement is made, and will be followed by a dozen threads, each complaining about a separate feature of the new camera, and that is where suggestions for the next APS-C camera will be found (along with those in the corresponding threads that followed announcement of the K-3ii)

If we see two APS-C cameras this year, I guess the first would be a K-S1 successor in early summer. Pentax/Ricoh has been making compact lightweight models (K-m, K-x, K-r, K-01, K-S1) for years and they are the models I see most often in use in Japan. I think they'll shake up the formula again and produce something along those lines in summer.

The other one would be an APS-C version of the K-1 to compete directly with the D500. That might be a suitable camera to have ready for Photokina.

I think the K-S2 and K-3 II will remain on the market for the rest of the year.

That would be something worth looking into for me particularly, if it can give noise free photos at ISO 3200 or more. I would really love to have one.
