So back to normal and in the end much ado over nothing. Since it appears Ricoh still owns the Pentax.com domain all they had to do was alias the rac.pentax.com subdomain to the current RIAC email server and retrieve the email addressed to the adminstrator on record.

+1 to all who alerted Ricoh to the problem

-1 to all who accused Ricoh of sinister intentions

A provisional -1 to those bleating about poor email addressing schemes. Since it was registered to a PENTAX.COM domain the email structure may have been a legacy from when Hoya owned the domain which may have been a legacy from when Pentax was owned by Pentax.

I hope they didn't just kick the can down the road and actually mapped the registrant's email address to a catchall in case she leaves the company or they switch up accounts with her.. otherwise they're potentially back to 2 days ago sometime in 2020!

Given the Registrant named I wouldn't lose any sleep over that. There's also a different (person) Admin under the @prac alias. With a few days to clean things up, the structure may become even less redundant.

Great news! It looks as though Ricoh has renewed the domain name. The Pentax Photo Gallery is back up and running. I believe the emails from Pentax Forums members may have assisted in promptly resolving the issue. Cheers.

It's up and running now. Tried to load a picture taken with the K3ii and it gave me an error message that it was not a Pentax camera.
