They should rename it Pentax-Ricoh gallery IMO.
Why wouldn't they accept GR photos ? (or WG ones though)

Would it really make that much difference if the site is unavailable for two or three days?

pentaxphotogallery.com Site Overview
a
Daily page view per visitor: 2.80
Daily time on site: 2:55
On the other hand, they own the popular search terms "photo galery" [sic!], "rense" [what?] and "nils bittkowski" [Who? Sorry Nils if you happen to read this!].

1. pentax 53.75% 2. kerrick james 14.98% 3. photo galery 6.96% 4. rense 2.92% 5. nils bittkowski 2.28%

From a search engine optimization perspective it sure seems like they don't want the gallery to be found at all

To sum it up: For at least one and a half year nobody in Ricoh US gave PPG a thought. I am biased, because web design and communication is kind of what I do for a living in my country far far away from Ricoh US hq. But for a company with poor retail presence, as I understand they have in US - they are pretty much not present in shops where I live, they would do well to put in more of an effort here.

I've seen this issue happen several times before - even to companies like Microsoft (which forgot to renew it's UK hotmail domain once).
Ha, Ha, Ha, I find it hilarious you pointed to Microsoft as a source of competence.

It won't let me upload a photo from a K-3 exported directly from Lightroom CC. But if I upload the same photo downloaded from Flickr it works...

So there is something wrong with the EXIF library on the site, or it is something Adobe is doing to the EXIF. The Flickr picture has no EXIF...

Ricoh needs to trim it down and limit the number of pictures someone can submit at a time.
Actually there was a limit of 5 submissions a week.

There still is. And it takes a month and a half for them to get approved lately.

Shortly after we were married, my wife and I got a Chinese-made dining fly (a tent-like roof that you can put over a picnic table while camping). The first time I put it up, I was stymied by the instructions which went something like "now tie the flame-ties". When we were all done, we noticed that nothing was actually holding the cloth to the frame, but some useful-looking ties were hanging loose. Then at the same instant, we realized that these instructions had been written in China, and someone had written this as they pronounced it ... frame-tie ==> flame-tie. I'm guessing that the same kind of thing happened here lense ==> rense. And I'm the last one who should complain about this. I am really incompetent in foreign languages!! Every day I am impressed by those who post here in English even though they normally speak some other language that I would totally butcher.

There are people who claim to have over had over 500 images accepted to PPG. Maybe they aren't being honest, but a 5 images a week that's 5 images a week every week for over 2 years.

Its more of a quantity over quality website.

Cool! Obviously running at the usual level of crisp corporate efficiency!
